UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei Makes Forest Interactive a Finalist for SDG Ambition Benchmark 1 at Sustainability Performance Awards 2021

KUALA LUMPUR: UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB) makes Forest Interactive a finalist for SDG Ambition Benchmark 1 at Sustainability Performance Awards 2021, placing the scalable mobile platform developer under the global spotlight.

The SDG Ambition Benchmark 1 category recognizes gender balance across all levels of management, which applauds efforts done by businesses, regardless of company size, in making sustainability a quintessential part of day-to-day business policies, as well as its imprint on the environment and corporate governance.

Acknowledging that gender balance across all levels of management is the most prominent in its operations, product and services, and value chain, Forest Interactive is proud to publicize its continuous effort in ensuring gender equity is advocated on the community and industry levels.

“In a male-dominated field like ours, we believe that proactive action from a corporate policy level is required to ensure that we are promoting active participation, career growth, and psychological safety for the women in our company. By actively engaging and involving them in our diversity and inclusion initiatives, we not only show them that we value them as individuals, but we also hope that we can help inspire change in ensuring women’s visibility in the tech industry,” commented Johary Mustapha, Founder & CEO of Forest Interactive.

Forest Interactive has shown progressive support to create a sustainable workplace by ensuring bias-free recruitment processes, day-to-day operations, and career growth for all talents. More than 70% of women make up the senior management team, and the company champions efforts that involve hiring talents from diverse backgrounds, from all parts of the world.

“Promoting gender equality at the workplace for a more sustainable future is not just about the messages we put forth toward the outside world. It’s also in how we champion our female talents as speakers in women-led events and how we rally support internally for gender equality issues,” continued Johary.

The 2021 Sustainability Performance Awards finalist recognition is a springboard for Forest Interactive to set higher benchmarks for its efforts in pursuing gender equality at the workplace, and to improve on its transparency and reporting metrics.
