A Rendezvous with United Nations: Johary Mustapha’s commitment to Advance Gender Equity at Workplace

KUALA LUMPUR: Forest Interactive CEO & Founder Johary Mustapha attended United Nation’s CEO Roundtable last month in New York to extend our efforts and participation in gender equity at the workplace.

Recognized by the United Nation Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB), Johary was honored to be the first CEO representing Southeast Asia in New York for a high-level roundtable discussion on a gender-equal-future of work in the digital age.

The CEO Roundtable is an invite-only event that brings together chief executives from leading companies around the world to discuss different initiatives undertaken by the United Nations. Forest Interactive, tech developer of scalable mobile platforms from Malaysia, is the forerunner in promoting gender equity initiatives and sustainable business practices.

“It was a surprise and of great pleasure that I was invited by the United Nations Global Compact to their HQ in New York and honored to contribute to the high-level discussions with prominent leaders on gender equal future of work in the digital age,” expressed Johary.

Forest Interactive’s effort in fostering a gender equity culture at the workplace includes taking a zero-tolerance stance on sexual harassment at the workplace, increasing the balance of representation across the company, and celebrating International Women’s Day annually.

“Unlocking gender equality is within the power of technology, and that is the core of our company’s belief, embracing equal opportunities for participation in management levels is what we believe that would bring good impact to bridge the gender gap at the workplace,” said Johary.

With the recognition by United Nations, Forest Interactive is more dedicated than ever to extending its commitments and efforts in cultivating an inclusive and empowering workplace culture.
