KUALA LUMPUR: Securing the Forward Faster Sustainability Award for Gender Equality at the UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB) Sustainability Celebration Night 2023, Forest Interactive stands by its continuous commitment to equity and inclusion.
On November 24, 2023, at Parkroyal Collection KL, Forest Interactive received dual honors from UNGCMYB’s judges. The company was awarded the Forward Faster Sustainability Award for Gender Equality in the Mid-Tier Company category. Additionally, it achieved finalist recognition for the Forward Faster CEO Award.
This marks the third consecutive year Forest Interactive has participated in UNGCMYB’s annual sustainability recognition event. The win in the Gender Equality category being the company’s second. This underscore its dedication to the recruitment, empowerment, well-being, and advancement of women in its workplace.
Johary Mustapha, Founder and CEO of Forest Interactive, expressed gratitude in his speech, stating,

The recognized initiatives and results by UNGCMYB’s panel of judges include:
- Having more than 80% of senior management positions held by women, demonstrating Forest Interactive’s advocacy in charting fair career progression for all.
- Committing to Women’s Aid Organization (WAO)’s We Pledge program. The support for WAO’s corporate initiative shows the company’s stand in providing a safe working environment. This ensures equal opportunities for women in Forest Interactive to participate in the company, including the decision-making process. Notably, Forest Interactive has implemented specific initiatives, such as offering a 24/7 helpline and emotional support for those who have experienced domestic violence.
- Celebrating International Women’s Day 2023 with the hashtag #EmbraceEquality campaign. In addition, themed backgrounds are utilize in online meetings all month aim to heighten awareness. Moreover, hosting a panel discussion to provide a platform for male allies to address questions related to gender equality, featuring notable speakers such as Dr Choy Tsee Leng from LeadWomen and Dhivyasri from All Women’s Action Society (AWAM).
Forest Interactive’s ongoing commitment to gender equality has been awarded by several organizations. Previously, in September 2022, Johary was acknowledged by UN Women Malaysia 2022 Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs) with Malaysia’s Leadership Commitment Award.
