JAKARTA: Forest Interactive Foundation, in collaboration with Crowe Indonesia Teknologi, Rotaract District 3410 Indonesia, and Rotary Club of Jakarta Gambir, reaches out to affected families in Jakarta.
The initiative, which was named #SekardusKebahagiaan, aims to distribute food donations to 223 families; 173 packages to Marunda Kepu Village in North Jakarta and 50 packages to communities around Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi.
Vita Paulina, Operations and Marketing Manager di Forest Interactive said that Forest Interactive has been actively involved in charity programs since 2017. “One of the CSR initiatives that have been done is #ForestCares. It focuses on helping people fulfilling their basic needs like food and medication. This initiative aims to support the community to have a better life.”
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a nightmare for Indonesians with many of them have lost their job. Consequently, they are now facing challenges in fulfilling their daily basic needs. Therefore, Crowe Indonesia Teknologi was moved to help and partake in the #SekardusKebahagiaan initiative.
“We have seen that there are a lot of people were laid off because of the pandemic. Some of them are our friends, family, and neighbor,” said Marko Suswanto, Partner of Crowe Teknologi Indonesia. “For this reason, we were moved to take action and do what we can in our capacity by distributing food donation to the families that are affected by the pandemic. We hope that this collaboration between Crowe Indonesia Teknologi, Forest Interactive Foundation, Rotaract, and Rotary Club will give these families hope and encouragement to keep moving on with their lives.”
The initiative was also assisted by the Rotary Club of Jakarta Gambir and Rotaract District 3410 Indonesia. Rotaract conducted field research to identify target families that are aligned with the objective of this initiative. After the selection of a few areas and marginalized communities has been finalized, Rotaract recommended the food donation to be distributed to RT 08/RW 07 Marunda Kepu Village.
“This village was chosen because they have a lot of potential to grow. Unfortunately, the communities there are not supported with the necessary community building programs they deserved. We hope that this donation will empower the families and motivate them to live a better life,” said Nerissa Angelina, Community Service Director at Rotaract District 3410 Indonesia.
#SekardusKebahagiaan food packages arrived on Oct 2, 2021 at 4 p.m. More than 200 families have received the packages, which include a 100-year-old elderly and a disabled teenager. The villagers were excited to welcome volunteers from Forest Interactive, Crowe Indonesia Teknologi, and Rotaract. The locals also lined up in an orderly manner, making sure that they followed the SOPs.
To ensure fair distribution of necessities, the organizers not only opened a food distribution point at Posyandu but also delivered the donations door-to-door to the elderly as well as families that had children with special needs.
