BANDUNG: In conjunction with this year’s Eid al-Adha, Forest Interactive Foundation (FIF) collaborates with MyFundAction Indonesia to donate and distribute Qurbani meat to the less fortunate families in Lembang, West Java. The fund for this program was raised among Forest Interactive talents in Indonesia.
About 600 families in Imenyan, Cikoneng, Cikored, and Mekarwangi Village have received meat donations. These villages were chosen based on their low income rate, which contributes to the stunting. On top of that, Desa Mekarwangi is also known as Mualaf (Muslim covert) village. The objective of this charity program is to help Indonesians with limited access to food in line with the United Nation’s SDG 2, which is zero hunger.
The foundation, which was established last June to advance its corporate responsibility, sustainable development, and charitable giving goals, also aims to help reduce stunted growth among children in the community. Indonesia is ranked fourth in the world in stunting rate, mainly due to some babies in the country being born with malnutrition and children not eating the right food growing up.
Vita Paulina, Operations and Marketing Manager at Forest Interactive Indonesia, said: “At Forest Interactive, we value the welfare of our community. This initiative is not only a part of our social responsibility but also our continued commitment to giving back to society. We hope that our small gestures will help the families in these villages in celebrating a meaningful Eid al-Adha and, ultimately, reduce the number of children with stunted growth in Indonesia.”
Meanwhile, Arika Sugiharti, Program Coordinator of MyFundAction, also noted: “We are thrilled to join hands with FIF for this Eid al-Adha charity program. We share the same value, which is to provide the necessary aids to the low-income groups and the elderly. At the end of the day, we hope to improve the quality of life of the community in West Java.”
Although it was inaugurated this year, Forest Interactive Foundation has been actively contributed to the community in Indonesia and Malaysia since 2017 under the name of Forest Cares. As a result of restricted movement and encouraged social distance practice, this year’s Eid al-Adha charity program was slightly different from that of last year’s, which was a cow donation to Pesantren (Islamic School) Ash-Sholihah in Cirebon.
With the goal of shaping future innovators in a fast-changing world, Forest Interactive Foundation organizes programs to help students prepare for a future where they can thrive with technology. The foundation also seeks to bring the value of diversity and inclusivity in the company to the wider communities outside of the organization, cementing its commitment to creating sustainable initiatives.
